Liver cancer is cancer of the liver. Cancer in the liver is not common. If there are malignant tumors in the liver, it usually involves sowing or growth of another type of cancer. An example of this is colon cancer in the liver. This is not a liver cancer. This information is therefore not about metastases, but about cancer that originates in the liver. This is called primary liver cancer. Cancer in the liver is difficult to detect and is usually only late discovered. Symptoms of liver cancer, complaints that may be associated with cancer in the liver are:
  • pain in the upper right of the abdomen
  • decreased appetite
  • weight loss
  • jaundice, characteristics of which are:
  • - yellow discoloration of the skin and the eyewitness
  • - itch
  • - gray-white stool and dark urine
  • swelling of the stomach through a build-up of moisture: this is called ascites
  • nausea and vomiting
  • spontaneous bleeding by clotting disorders
  • weakness and fatigue




These are symptoms of liver cancer do not always indicate cancer in the liver. They may also indicate other conditions, such as a liver disease that is not malignant.

Forms of liver cancer
There are several forms of primary liver cancer. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common form: 90% of patients have this type. HCC is derived from the most common liver cells: hepatocytes.

In addition to HCC, there are also:
  • cholangiocarcinoma
  • cystadenocarcinoma
  • hepatoblastoma
  • liver cell arc
  • certain mixing forms of liver tumors
These forms of liver cancer occur very rarely. Therefore, this text only deals with HCC, referred to as liver cancer.

In liver cancer, the tumor often occurs in several places in the liver. As the tumors grow larger, they can grow into the blood vessels, adrenal glands, the diaphragm or the large intestine.

Pollution of toxic substances
The liver makes harmless substances harmless. If the tumor grows, liver function may deteriorate. Toxic substances can then accumulate. Not only in the liver but also in other parts of the body.

Are poisonous substances stuck in the brain? Then you may suffer from inertia, confusion, and fatigue. Ultimately you can even fall into the coma and die.
