Kidney Cancer Symptoms Male

Kidney-Cancer-Symptoms-Male
Kidney cancer is a form of cancer in the kidneys. In adults, 90 to 95 percent of cases are associated with kidney cell cancer. This form of kidney cancer also calls a renal cell carcinoma, and earlier it was said of a Grawitz tumor. A Wilm's tumor is a kidney tumor that occurs predominantly in children under the age of five.

There are several forms of kidney cell cancer:

  • Chromophobic kidneyl cell cancer
  • Clear-cell kidney cell cancer
  • Papillary kidney cell cancer

There are still some other forms of kidney cell cancer, but those are very rare. Kidney cancer occurs mainly in people between 60 and 84 years.

What are the kidneys doing?

The kidneys are two bean-shaped organs connected to the bladder with a urethra. The kidneys cleanse the blood and the trash remains in the form of urine. The bladder catches the urine until it leaves the body.

Kidney cancer causes

The exact cause of renal cancer is unknown. However, it is clear that there are a number of risk factors that are relevant to the development of kidney tumors. These risk factors include:

  • Smoking.
  • Overweight
  • Nutrition
  • High bloodpressure
  • A genetic kidney disease that can develop into kidney cancer

Research shows that smokers have about one and a half times the ability to get kidney cancer. In rare cases, hereditary construction is the cause of kidney tumors. However, this concerns only two percent of people who have kidney cancer. This hereditary construction does not mean that people by definition develop a kidney tumor, but their chances are greater. Persons with known hereditary facilities are checked annually.

Symptoms of kidney cancer

In the early stages of kidney cancer, there are often no symptoms. Therefore, kidney cancer is often only discovered at a late stage or by chance during a physical examination.

List of symptoms that may indicate kidney cancer are:

  • Blood in your urine
  • Night sweats
  • Fatigue
  • Pain on your side
  • Lethargy
  • Fever
  • No appetite
  • Weight loss

It is important to know that these symptoms and complaints not only indicate a kidney tumor. Different complaints may also occur in other (innocent) diseases. Contact your doctor if these symptoms persist, become worse or worry.

Kidney cancer diagnosis

If your GP suspects that your symptoms are associated with kidney cancer, he will send you to the urologist or internist. With different investigations, a doctor determines whether there is a real kidney cancer. Examples of this are:

Blood and urine tests give a first impression of the condition of your kidneys. This research also provides information about the function of other organs in your body.
Ultrasound . During an ultrasound, a physician looks at your organs, including your kidneys, using sound waves. Any deviations may indicate a kidney tumor.

If the above tests indicate kidney cancer, additional research is necessary. For example:

  • A CT scan . X-rays reveal your organs and tissues.
  • An MRI scan . Using magnetic fields, a cross section is visible from the body. Any tumors and sows are visible.

Sometimes the doctor still performs additional investigations to determine at which stage the kidney cancer is located and whether there are sores.
